Royals, Preppers clinch golf divisions

LEHMAN TWP. Holy Redeemer clinched the Wyoming Valley Conference Class 2A Division III golf title on Friday after avenging last week’s loss to Wyoming Seminary with a 177-200 win at Huntsville Golf Club.
Ryan Crossin earned medalist honors with a 41 for the Royals.
MMI 189, Hanover Area 207
Sam Harman carded 41 to earn the medalist at Wyoming Valley Country Club (par 35) and lead the Preppers, who are headed to the WVC Team Championships Tournament as the Class 2A Division IV champs on Thursday at Fox Hill with a record of 9-2.
Tunkhannock 177, Wyoming Area 178
Bret Soltysiak of Tunkhannock and Anthony Shaver of Wyoming Area each shot a 39 at Fox Hill Country Club.
Soltysiak’s Tigers walked away with the one-stroke win.
BOYS SOCCER
Wyoming Valley West 2, Dallas 1
The Spartans remained undefeated improving to 6-0 on the strength of a pair of second-half goals.
Mike Tandoh’s score equaled the score at 1-1 and Mike Bazadona’s tally with 17:59 remaining proved to be the game-winner.
Nate Wood registered a goal for the Mountaineers.

Maddy Mimnaugh and Sam Mayers each scored a goal during the Patriots defeat of the Cougars. Taryn Ashby made eight saves to secure the shutout for Pittston.
Holy Redeemer 3, Pittston 0
The Royals swept all three games against the Patriots 25-3, 25-9, 25-3. Lauren Slavoski provided 11 kills, seven service points, two aces and one block while Cassie Schinski added seven service points, five digs and four aces in the win.
