Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) recently announced that the hospital is now offering a full range of orthopedic and sports medicine services for all ages. The announcement came with the arrival of highly experienced orthopedic surgeon Ronald D. Wheeler, MD, to the newly established Los Alamos Orthopedics & Sports Medicine clinic. The clinic is in Suite 225 at LAMC.

Dr. Wheeler has an extensive background in orthopedics, having trained and conducted research at several prestigious medical institutions throughout the country, including Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York and Stanford University in California. His background includes sports medicine, having served as team physician for many high school and college sports programs. Dr. Wheeler has received numerous honors and has held various teaching and professional appointments. He belongs to several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

"I love orthopedics and I love helping people. The patient truly comes first in everything I do," Dr. Wheeler said. "I pursued this opportunity in Los Alamos because there's a need for orthopedic services in the wonderful communities throughout our region.
