Schools in Southeastern San Diego County to Close Again Due to Power Shutoff Amid Winds
Schools in the Mountain Empire Unified School District will be closed again Thursday due to a power shutoff prompted by strong Santa Ana winds, it was announced Wednesday evening.
The shutdown aims to prioritize the safety of students and staff in San Diego County's most southeastern school district, officials said.

The National Weather Service expects winds to continue through Thursday, bringing gusts of 50 to 60 mph along mountain slopes, combined with very dry and warming conditions.
Cooler temperatures are expected over the weekend, followed by another round of gusty winds and a slight chance of showers early next week, the NWS said.
