Wexford Federation President Breda Cahill said the fashion show was an obvious choice for their fundraiser as the organisation has a long history of making clothes and they wanted to support local women and businesses. Prior to the show, there were a number of pop-up stalls set up featuring clothes, skincare, jewellery and wine from Linocco Lingerie, Crafty Wexford, Peace and Tranquillity, Mountaingate Crafts, Sabrina's Hair, Wig, and Scalp specialist, Peas and Love, La Kav wines, and Aideen's Cakes. Opening the show on the night, MC Liam Spratt warned audience members that he would be walking through the crowd at intervals during the night to test guest's knowledge with a series of questions to win a box of chocolates. "As you may have noticed, I can go wherever I want with this microphone," he teased. He also introduced Wexford Federation President Breda Cahill, reassuring members that he was not going to call up freshly crowned American President Donald Trump to the podium. Ms Cahill reminded guests of the long history of the organisation that has bore the fruit of today. "The ICA was founded in Bree in 1910 and not many organisations can say that they were founded out of kindness. Anita Lett came from a wealthy family and was highly educated. She could have chosen to do nothing about the poverty and the situation that women found themselves in the early 1900s," she said. "But she made a choice – and the choice she made has made life better for women in Ireland ever since. And this organisation is very much alive and well all because she chose to be kind, be compassionate, and to do good. That spirit and ethos lives in the ICA today with all the fundraising we do for charities around Wexford, our inclusivity, and our work with climate action," she added. She also thanked their long list of generous sponsors; Billy Doyle Footwear, New Mood Boutique, Linocco Lingerie, Lu Kav Wines, Brooke's Jewellers, Sam McCauley's, Hammels of Bree Centra, Sabrina's, Hair Matters, Murphy's Barn, The Bake House, and Lu Lu Boutique. Without further ado, models took to the brightly lit runway to the backdrop of lively music to show off the wares of Shaws, New Mood, Lu Lu, and Wallace's. There was a great variety of models of all ages on stage, including four generations of the one family. Among the models was also Cllr Bridín Murphy's brother Murt, who recovered well from a fall that became a hilarious returning bit by MC Spratt. "When you attend the ICA fashion show with hundreds of women in attendance and your brother rocks up as a model...sweet lord," she wrote on social media. Stephen Shaw of Shaws Department store also added an element of surprise and fun by revealing to the audience that prior to the show they had hidden slips of paper under a few select seats which could be traded in for a voucher. There was a raffle on the night, as well as door prizes that included highly-coveted vouchers and gifts. A prize was also given on the night to the 'Best Dressed Lady' chosen by representatives from Shaw's.
