Semi-truck catches fire on I-10 East near Paisano, lanes closed

A semi-truck on I-10 in central El Paso caught fire closing several lanes of traffic Wednesday evening.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, at around 6 p.m., a semi-truck went up in flames on I-10 East, near Paisano, leading to the closures of three lanes.

The El Paso Fire Department said that despite being two drivers in the truck, no one was injured.

The drivers however lost all their personal possessions in the fire.

The Red Cross was reportedly called out to help the driver figure out a place to stay.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The EPFD estimates the scene will be cleated at around 9 p.m.

TxDOT also reported traffic to be backed up to Piedras.
