Snow tapers off but the winds ramp up..

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The snow is over for much of the Local 4 viewing area but some ongoing snow will continue for Northern Kansas counties as well as Southeast Nebraska into the Saturday overnight creating the possibility of slick roads in these areas. The Tri-Cities could see a few flurries develop into late evening but the snow is pretty much over for us. Here is a look at area snow amounts from last night. (KSNB) (KSNB) Sunday a cold front will sweep through the area, which will be a wind producer. Peak wind gusts will be as high as 40+ mph from mid morning through mid afternoon. (KSNB) High temperatures should climb above the freezing mark but with the wind it will feel more like the upper teens to lower 20s. Next week will bring warmer temperatures, as we climb back into the 40s, which I wouldn’t necessarily classify as a heat wave, but it’s an improvement. A weak disturbance could generate a slight chance for isolated showers late Thursday night early Friday , with a little better chance for rain for the Tri-Cities next Saturday night into Sunday.
