State Police Investigate Homicide

Brighton, Mich. (WILX) -The Michigan State Police from the Brighton Post are investigating a homicide that happened in the early hours of Friday morning. The state police say they received a call at about 1 A.M. to head to the 6000 block of Sargent Rd, in Handy Township which is near Fowlerville in Livingston County. A person in the home called 911 saying he heard what appeared to be an argument between two roommates who lived in the basement of the home. When he went to check on the two he found a 57-year-old man lying on the floor with injuries. The roommate, A 35-year-old man was seen running from the home. The State Troopers called in a K-9 unit to help track the suspect. As the search was on-going a person who lived near Millett and Truhn Roads called police at about 2:30 in the morning saying someone was banging on their door. When Troopers arrived they discovered this was the suspect they were looking for and he was taken into custody. Michigan State Police say they are not releasing how the man died or his name or the name of the suspect because the investigation is still ongoing.
