'Stolen car, bro': Man accused of stealing vehicle after failing to return rental car
A 32-year-old man was arrested after he was accused of failing to return his friend's car rental after claiming he had done so four days prior.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), on Monday at 6:23 p.m. deputies located a stolen vehicle. Utilizing its aviation system deputies were able to track the vehicle to Camden Street in Tampa.
Deputy body camera video shows the car pulling into what appears to be a parking lot of an apartment complex before deputies surround him with guns drawn.
"Stolen car, bro," the deputy answered.
Hollis proceeds to tell the man that it's a rental. to which the deputy says, "Yeah, stolen."
Hollis was booked on counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle, no valid driver's license and possession of cannabis.
