Dramatic home surveillance video shows the moment a bold coyote chased a little girl through her own Oregon backyard in broad daylight.
Charlie Schmidt was working in his yard on Oct. 12 while his children and a neighbor were playing outside. Surveillance footage shows his 4-year-old daughter suddenly running through the yard, calmly saying, "Dad, there's a coyote," before jumping on a child's picnic table to escape it.
Her frantic father screamed a few expletives as he ran to scoop up his daughter and get everyone inside.
It's not uncommon to see coyotes in their Portland, Oregon, neighborhood, Schmidt told KGW , but it was "a little abnormal" for one to chase children.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
