The USMNT Will Win Its First World Cup Before England Wins Its Second

I know everyone's going to call me crazy, and I'm okay with that. But hey, everyone thought Einstein was crazy—until he wasn't. Everyone thought Socrates was crazy—until he wasn't. Benjamin Franklin flew a kite during a thunderstorm to create electricity. If that's not crazy, I don't know what is. The point is, people think you're crazy until you prove them wrong. And here's my "crazy" take:

The United States Men's National Team WILL win its first World Cup before England wins its second.

Last night, I found myself watching the USMNT play Jamaica. I'll be honest: at times, it felt like I was watching a middle school soccer game. Not because the USMNT lacked talent, but because of the pace of play, the quality of the field, and, frankly, the broadcast being only in Spanish—it all just rubbed me the wrong way. But whatever. Despite all that, the boys in the Stars and Stripes pulled off a scrappy 1-0 win over Jamaica. And while the win itself didn't blow me away, their fight did.

Our guys were on demon time out there. I swear they've been blasting NBA YoungBoy in the locker room. Anytime a Jamaican player so much as nudged one of ours, we had four or five guys swarm like hockey players defending their goalie. It was beautiful chaos. I'm telling you, man—there's something special about this USMNT.

Now let's talk about the blokes across the pond. England undeniably has talent—they're leaps and bounds ahead of us in that department. But at the end of the day, talent doesn't matter if you can't win when it counts. They're glorified choke artists. And let's be honest, they're overrated. That team plays like they deserve to win because they're England. But they don't have the fight to win like our boys in the Stars and Stripes.

That's why I believe we'll win our first World Cup before they win their second.

Think about it: the 2026 World Cup is coming to America. Not only will we have home-field advantage, but the growth of soccer in this country after that tournament will be astronomical. Those 5'10" elite athletes who've been playing basketballs? They're going to start picking up soccer balls instead. Once that happens, it's over for the rest of the world.

It might not happen in 2026, but it will happen in our lifetime. Mark my words. Remember: Uncle Smokey told you.
