Thunderstorms Possible Across Detroit Area Friday: NWS Forecasters do not expect any severe weather.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Scattered thunderstorms are expected across the Detroit area Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms should cross southeastern Michigan sometime in the late afternoon and evening hours when high temperatures hit the mid 80s across the region, according to the weather service.

Forecasters do not expect any severe weather.

Any lingering overnight storms will move out of the southeastern Michigan region by Saturday morning when high temperatures climb toward 85 degrees in the afternoon hours, according to the weather service.

More showers and thunderstorms will move in the southeastern Michigan area Sunday when highs hit the low 80s, according to the weather service.

High temperatures will finally drop below 80 degrees across southeastern Michigan on Monday, ending a 14-day stretch of highs reaching the 80s, according to the weather service.

The cooler temperatures next week will bring more chances of rain to the southeastern Michigan region, according to the weather service.
