Two Rainstorms May Finally Drench Hudson County This Week
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — While the Garden State remains under a Red Flag Warning due to dry conditions that allow fires, forecasters predict two periods of rain to come this week — but the first one will be relatively light.
The area has a chance of a rain shower any time after 1 p.m. Sunday, but the day will be mostly sunny, forecasters say.
The region also may see some frost early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday, with lows in the 40s.
The region also may get a half an inch or more of rain all day Thursday.
Flooding usually occurs only when close to an inch of rain falls, particularly in a short time.
Meanwhile, both Trenton International Airport and Atlantic City International Airport have gone without measurable rainfall for more than a month. On Thursday, both broke records for consecutive days without measurable rainfall. The 34-day record in Atlantic City was set in 1995, and Trenton's record of 38 days without measurable rainfall had been set all the way back in 1865.
