UPDATE: 1 death confirmed in Moffett Road crash, Public Safety Alert issued

UPDATE (2:05 p.m.): Police confirmed that one person is dead in the Moffett Road crash that happened Monday afternoon.

The Mobile Police Department also sent out a Public Safety Alert in connection with the crash. The message in the alert said, "Major accident in the area of Moffet Rd and I-65. Seek alternate route until further notice. From Mobile Police Department -Traffic Safety Unit."

ORIGINAL STORY:

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Traffic on Moffett Road is backed up, and authorities are investigating the incident after a Monday afternoon crash.

According to the Mobile Police Department, "Officers are currently working a serious traffic accident in the 3600 block of Moffett Road."

INCIDENT LOCATION:

WKRG News 5 crews arrived on the scene and took the following photos, which appear to show a motorcycle and pickup truck after a crash.

We're working to learn more about the crash's cause and the drivers' conditions.

Police said traffic is currently restricted to one eastbound lane and one westbound lane due to the crash.
