US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez set to rally for Harris-Walz campaign in State College

With less than 20 days until Election Day, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is set to campaign Friday in State College to support the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz ticket as part of the "Students for Harris-Walz" coalition.

Ocasio-Cortez, an outspoken Democrat who represents New York's 14th district, is aiming to "fire up young voters" while underscoring the importance of this year's election — including issues such as immigration enforcement, abortion and gun violence, according to the Harris-Walz campaign.

It wasn't immediately known where Ocasio-Cortez, known as "AOC" for short, might specifically appear. However, according to an online event created by the Pennsylvania Democratic Party , she's planning to appear somewhere on the Penn State campus from 4:30-7 p.m.

More details are expected to filter out later Wednesday and this week.

AOC's visit will come a day after a scheduled on-campus appearance by former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who is speaking as part of Turning Point USA's Penn State chapter . His event starts at 5:30 p.m., although the venue is not publicly listed.

Ocasio-Cortez comes to Penn State a month after rallying young voters at a similar university-focused event at Carnegie Mellon.
