Utilities project to close SB lane of Pinebrook Rd. 9/23

The City of Venice Utilities Department will have the western southbound lane of Pinebrook Road closed between Kilpatrick Road and Healthcare Way (Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice) starting next week. The closure includes the adjacent sidewalk and bike lane.

As part of the Water Production Well RO-8E capital improvement project, a 16-inch raw water main will be installed along the west side of Pinebrook Rd. The work will begin at the well site on Sept. 23 and move south along Pinebrook to Kilpatrick. Construction is expected to be complete by Nov. 1, 2024. Weather events or unforeseen circumstances may influence the completion date.

Heavy equipment will be near and within the road right-of-way. Please drive slowly, use caution, and watch out for workers. Motorists are to follow posted traffic signs.
