Valley’s Edge Steak & Seafood at MGM hosts Nov. 20 wine dinner

NORTHFIELD, Ohio – Valley's Edge Steak & Seafood , the fine dining restaurant at MGM Northfield Park, is hosting a fall harvest wine dinner. Executive Chef Chris Poplin will pair five courses with wines from Black Stallion Estate Winery of Napa, California.

The dinner is at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20.

In an interesting twist of equestrian history, the winery was home to the Silverado Horseman's Center in the 1950s. At the same time Northfield Park became the only harness racing track in Ohio.

Creamy Potato Leek Soup with roasted garlic, crème fraiche and chive oil. Wine: Black Stallion North Coast Cabernet

Goat Cheese and Beet Salad with roasted multi-color beets, mesclun lettuce, crumbled goat cheese and maple balsamic vinaigrette. Wine: Black Stallion Napa Chardonnay.

Wild Mushroom Sacchetti with brown butter, toasted hazelnuts, fried sage and shaved black truffle. Wine: Black Stallion Los Carneros Pinot Noir.

Braised Short Ribs with parsnip puree, porcini demi, glazed baby carrots and roasted radish. Wine: Black Stallion Napa Cabernet.

Chai Spiced Pumpkin Crème Brulé with cinnamon, cardamon, ginger, allspice, clove, nutmeg and burnt-sugar crust. Wine: Black Stallion North Coast Sauvignon Blanc.
