Richard Kowalewitch , longtime owner of RK's Surf Shop, claims all of his opponents have violated their oath of office as mayor or council members. He wants to get partisan politics out of local government.

Chris Taylor is also vying for the top spot. A campaign website for Taylor said he wants to use his skills to build a consensus on public safety, education and health.
