Sensory play room

South Waco Community Center, 2815 Speight Ave., offers a sensory room to provide a safe, engaging space for infants and toddlers up to age. 4.

The sensory room is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Free line dancing class

Doris Miller Community Center, 1020 Elm Ave., Suite 800L, offers a free line dancing class every Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Open to beginning, or those looking to get more active, or both.

Classes are low-impact and beginner-friendly.

Cameron Park hike

Duality Yoga is sponsoring Fall Equinox Hike and Yoga event Sunday at 9:30 a.m. beginning at Jacob's Ladder in Cameron Park.

The hike portion will leave promptly at 9:30 a.m.

The first and second potions of the hike will each take approximately 25 minutes.

The yoga portion of the event takes place at Circle Point around 10 a.m. No mats are allowed.

Garrison garden cleanup

Creating Green Neighborhoods, a Keep Waco Beautiful Program focused on problem-solving and beautification efforts in neighborhoods across Waco, will conduct a cleanup of Garrison Community Garden from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at 200 Garrison St. Park on the street or at the Doris Miller Community Center and walk over to 200 Garrison St.

Volunteers will do basic garden work, pulling weeds, fixing beds, planting plants, laying down soil and mulch. If you have gardening supplies such as gloves, rakes, or shovels, please bring them with you. We have limited supplies for this project.

Walk for the Homeless

Mission Waco's Walk for the Homeless will start at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the Meyer Center, 1226 Washington Ave.

The 2-mile walking event will end at Church Under the Bridge. Transportation will be provided back to the Meyer Center at the end of the walk and after the Church Under the Bridge service.

Out of the Darkness walk

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Out of the Darkness Waco Walk will start at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at Brazos Park East, 3516 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The event provides community, connection, healing and hope for survivors of suicide loss and those with lived experience.

Every dollar participants raise will support the foundation's investment in life-saving research, education, advocacy and support for people affected by suicide.

Dancing with Waco Stars

The Family Abuse Center will hold its ninth annual Dancing with the Waco Stars fundraiser Thursday at the Waco Hippodrome Theatre, 724 Austin Ave.

Founded in Waco in 1980, the Family Abuse Center serves victims of domestic violence across six counties in Central Texas.

This year's theme is Once Upon A Time.

Bonnie, Clyde & Rangers

Audrey Ladd, education programs director at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, will present an in-depth exploration of Bonnie and Clyde and the Texas Rangers who helped bring them down, from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Waco-McLennan County Central Library, 1717 Austin Ave.

Gaza documentary

Waco Friends of the Climate will screen the documentary "The Night Won't End: Biden's War on Gaza" at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the South Waco Library, 2737 S. 18th St.

Literacy coalition

The Central Texas Literacy Coalition will meet at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Bank and Trust Wealth Center, 1711 Lake Success Drive.

Texas State Technical College Provost Beth Wooten will speak. The public is invited.

Parents as Teachers

The Dewey Community Center, 925 N. Ninth St., will hold Parents as Teachers workshops from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5. The workshops provide strategies and resources parents can use at home to make the learning process easier for students in grades 3-12.

Antique farm machinery

The Waco Antique Farm Machinery Club will hold its seventh annual fall show Sept. Friday and Saturday at Tonkawa Park in Crawford.

A tractor ride will start at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 27, followed by a dinner at 524 E. Fourth St. Cost for dinner is $15.

A tractor and car show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28.
