Kings star De'Aaron Fox made lots of big fourth-quarter shots to win the NBA's inaugural Jerry West Clutch Player of the Year award while leading Sacramento to the playoffs in 2022-23.

Fox made the SportsCenter Top 10 on ESPN after hitting a buzzer-beater at the end of the third quarter in Tuesday's 117-114 loss to the Utah Jazz at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

The Kings were trailing 87-80 when Fox dribbled up the left side of the floor and launched a 65-footer from well beyond the halfcourt line. Fox's shot swished through the net as time expired to cut the deficit to four going into the fourth quarter.

Fox's shot was featured at No. 10 on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays of the night.

The Kings tied the game early in the fourth quarter and took a 102-100 lead on a three-point play by Fox with 5:24 remaining. The Jazz went up by 108-105 on a basket by George and took a 113-109 on a 3-pointer by Markkanen.

The Kings got within one on a dunk by DeMar DeRozan with 18.1 seconds to play. Utah pushed the lead back to three on two free throws by George.

Fox looked like he was headed to the free-throw line with a chance to tie the game after being fouled on a 3-point attempt with 3.4 seconds remaining. Officials determined the foul occurred before the shooting motion after Utah challenged the call.

The Kings were awarded the ball with a chance to force overtime, but Fox's 3-point attempt from 32 feet rimmed out as time expired.

Fox finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists, going 9 of 22 from the field and 2 of 9 from 3-point range. Fox shot well in the first three preseason games, hitting 48.5% from the field and 38.5% from 3-point range.

The Kings (0-4) are still searching for their first win going into their final preseason game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday at the new Intuit Dome in Inglewood. The Clippers (3-1) lost their preseason opener against the Golden State Warriors before winning three in a row against the Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks.
