Weather warning issued as flooding hits region

A number of roads have been flooded and rail services disrupted as heavy rain hits north-west England.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of heavy rain across the region.
Merseyside Police said it had put temporary closures in place in the Seaforth Road and Knowsley Road area in Bootle.
Rail services including Northern's Southport to Wigan Wallgate service have also been affected and replacement buses were in place.
