Week 9 best prop bets for Giants-Commanders

Welcome to the New York Giants betting angle, Week 9 edition! Each week, I'm giving you my three favorite wagers for that week's New York Giants game. My one rule: I won't ever give you wagers that are less than -120. Where's the fun in giving out bets with super short odds? This week, the 2-6 Giants return home to face the 6-2 Commanders. Those records say it's a mismatch, but the line doesn't. It's a rematch of a Week 2 contest where Washington prevailed 21-18, without scoring a touchdown. The Giants did not have a healthy kicker after Graham Gano got injured and it cost them. Since then, these teams have been moving in opposite directions. It's the first "rematch" game for either team this season. The line is Washington -3.5, with a game total of 44.5. The Giants put up a good fight in Pittsburgh on Monday night, and it was a one-score game most of the way. But in the end, they fell short. They constantly shot themselves in the foot with foolish penalties and mental mistakes, especially on offense. As for the Commanders, it's hard to put into words how they beat the Bears last week, but they're quickly becoming this year's with the horseshoe up its you-know-what. When they beat the Giants in Week 2, it was the first time in NFL history that a team that scored three TDs lost to a team that didn't score any. And on Sunday, Washington won on a Hail Mary pass that didn't even reach the end zone. Maybe all that was needed to change their mojo was for Dan Snyder to sell the team. So far this season, it's been all good vibes for prized rookie Jayden Daniels and the Commanders, and mostly bad ones for Big Blue. I went 2-1 each of the last two weeks. That perfect 3-0 is proving elusive and I've only hit it once so far this season. Maybe this week? OK, let's get to this week's picks. All lines and odds are from FanDuel .Giants +3.5 (-105). Two things give me pause here. The Commanders are 6-1-1 ATS, and the Giants will be without their starting punter and their kicker, who was already a backup. That said, I think this is going to be another close game between these division rivals. The Commanders are very efficient on offense, but I can see them having a letdown after their miracle walk-off on Sunday, in a highly anticipated contest that was flexed to the later timeslot so everyone could see the top two picks in the 2024 draft get after it. I believe that the Giants are better than their record indicates, and they continue to play hard. Will they win? Maybe. I think they'll be able to move the ball on this defense IF they can avoid stupid mistakes. I like getting the hook at home, at almost even money. Let's lock in the Giants plus the points. Game Total UNDER 44.5 (-110). Six of eight Giants games have gone under the total, the combined average scores of these teams equals less than the total, and outside of Washington's blowout of the lowly Panthers, neither of these teams has put up a really big number this year. The Giants have struggled to score at home and have the lowest red-zone TD percentage in the league. Both teams have been playing good defense of late, and Washington might be without starting running back Brian Robinson, Jr. Is that enough reasons or am I just trying to talk myself into this bet? I expect another fairly low-scoring contest. Tyrone Tracy OVER 59.5 rushing yards (-113). The Giants got some good news on Friday when Tracy cleared the concussion protocol, which was no sure thing given that they played on Monday night. Tracy has taken over lead back duties and the rookie from Purdue has provided a much-needed spark to a struggling offense. He gashed the Steelers ' tough run defense for 145 yards and a long TD on 20 carries on Monday night, which are both season highs. The Commanders allow an average of 144 rushing yards per game which ranks in the Bottom-10 in the NFL. D'Andre Swift of the Bears put up more than 100 yards on them on Sunday. Tracy should get to this number without too much trouble as long as the Giants don't get blown out early. Those are the picks for Week 9. Good luck with your wagers!
