Wexford Senator criticises decision to install road crossing day before school starts

"Any measures to make the area outside our schools safer are very welcome and many of us have sought these over the years but to start the work just as the school year was commencing and then not to inform the school as well is very poor practice.

At least the work is being done quickly and will make a difference but the timing and communication of such actions need to be considered," said Senator Byrne.

Senator Byrne also noted that a new ramp is being put in place in Camolin. "This is welcome as well but again, done at the start of the school year and we need to ensure adequate marking is put in place," he said.
