Whereabouts of dog found in crashed car uncertain

R.Campbell5 hr ago

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) — It's unclear what happened to a dog who hopped out of a crashed car after it was pulled from an embankment.

Garfield Heights police chased a vehicle into the Garfield Heights Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The chase ended when the car went over an embankment along Broadway Ave.

Garfield Heights firefighters were able to get the driver of the car out and EMS transported him to a local hospital.

It's unclear why he lead police on a chase. His name and condition were not immediately available early Wednesday.

After a tow truck pulled the car to the street, a little white dog jumped out.

A FOX 8 photographer saw officers and firefighters try to catch the dog before it ran into the woods. It's unclear if the dog was found.

We reached out to Garfield Heights police and fire dispatch, but were told to call back later in the morning.
