Woman killed in Medical District shooting, man detained

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was killed in a Friday morning shooting in the Medical District, police say.
According to reports, officers responded to the shooting in the 1000 block of Court Avenue around 8:30 a.m. A woman was pronounced dead on the scene and a man was detained.

The man was taken to Methodist University Hospital in non-critical condition, Memphis Police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
