Woman reunited with photo after tornado destroys home

OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) – JoAnn Prim and her husband woke up to storm sirens Sunday morning.

"I don't know how we survived... But it was the scariest thing ever in my life," said Prim. "All of the sudden the wind got really, really loud and our roof left and our bedroom walls left."

The tornado ripped through her neighborhood near SE 86th Street and Sooner Road.

"Our house is totally destroyed," said Prim.

While searching through the rubble, Prim got a message from someone who caught our news story earlier this week about our crew finding a photo in Oklahoma Heart Hospital-South's parking lot.

"She's like, 'Is this your son?' And I was like, 'That's my son,' and I got chills," said Prim. "I was like 'Oh, my gosh.' I went and watched y'alls news story and watched it and everything and I could not believe it."

She called the KFOR newsroom Wednesday morning and came to pick the picture up.

The photo is of her son Connor when he was about 12-years-old.

"This is when we lived in San Diego," said Prim. "We were at a birthday party at a go kart racetrack."

He's now 21 and serves in the military.

Prim's thankful he wasn't home at the time of the storm and thankful to have the keepsake back.

"It's beyond words and it's just memories and I mean, I could've lost him if he was home," said Prim.

Prim told KFOR this is actually the second photo of hers that was found at the hospital. A link to the family's Go Fund Me page is here .
