OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Two people are in the hospital after Omaha Police say a woman may have been held against her will in a closet.

Omaha Police told 6 News that the incident started as a domestic violence call near South 43rd and Frances Street around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

As they arrived to the scene, police say they heard gunfire and a woman screaming from the closet. OPD officers "immediately opened the closet door," and two of them fired their guns, a report says.

OPD said officers were able to get the woman out of the closet and take her to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is also in the hospital with extremely critical injuries after being given life saving measures.

A handgun was found near the man in the closet, a report states.

The incident was caught on officer's body-worn and cruiser cameras. No officers were injured in the incident, authorities say.

Those involved in the shooting are on leave, per department policy. The two officers are set to be interviewed.
