Sandlot High School Baseball Camp for girls and boys ages 7-12 will run for six weeks every Saturday and Sunday beginning Jan. 26 until Mar. 3. Saturdays will run from 10 a.m.-Noon or 12:15-2:15 p.m. and Sundays 2:15-4:15 p.m. Participants are to pick one session. Sessions include hitting, pitching, fielding, and catching. Cost is $150. Sandlot High School Baseball Academy will be hosting its 1st annual Softball Camp from Jan. 27 through Mar. 3. The camp will run on Sunday’s from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The camp will be instructed by local high school and travel coaches. The cost will be $150. Pace Setter Athletic Club is organizing an Open Adult Women’s Basketball League at the Greater Pittston YMCA. Players from the ages of 18 and older (unlimited) are welcome. Moosic Mets Baseball will be holding tryouts for players ages 8-17 at Electric City Baseball Academy 733 Davis St. Scranton, PA. Ages 8-11 will be held Sunday January 13 (6:30-8:30pm) and Wednesday January 16 (6-8pm). Ages 15-17 will be held Saturday January 19 (10am-12pm) and Wednesday January 23 (6-8pm). Ages 12-14 will be held Sunday January 20 (2-4pm) and Thursday January 24 (6-8pm). Players need only attend one of the two try-outs per age division. Cost is $10. Rock Solid Basketball at the Rock Rec Sports Complex, 340 Carverton Road, Trucksville, announces its tryout dates for the 2013 AAU Girls and Boys season. On Sunday, Jan. 6 and 20, girls in grades 9 and 10 will try out from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.; girls in 7th and 8th grades will try out from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.; and girls in 5th and 6th grades will try out from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, Jan. 13 and 27, 2013, boys in grades 9 and 10 will try out from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.; boys in 7th and 8th grades will try out from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.; and boys in 5th and 6th grade will try out from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The tryout fee is $10 per player. Wilkes University 6th Annual Futsal Frenzy Soccer Tournament at Wilkes is accepting registrations. The tournament will be held Sunday, Jan. 13 with all games beginning at 10 a.m. at Wilkes University’s UCOM building, found at 169 South Main St. The registration cost is $150 for team, additional teams from the same high school are $125. Back Mountain Youth Soccer will host an indoor Futsal/Soccer league running from Jan.11 through March for ages U6 to high school age at the Penn State Lehman Campus gym. FIFA futsal ball and rules will be used. Games will be played on weekends. All area intramural and travel teams are welcome. All area individual players seeking a team can sign up online as well.
