Christian college in Lansing has probation lifted
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Great Lakes Christian College (GLCC) announced The Higher Learning Commission has lifted the Accreditation Probation Sanction.
Dr. Frank Weller, President of the Great Lakes Christian College, addressed the probation sanction in a YouTube video , stating it has nothing to do with the college's academics but rather due to insufficient financial resources and not having a strategic plan to become sustainable.
"I am thrilled to report that the HLC's Board of Trustees voted last week to remove GLCC from probation. They cited the college's improved finances and a strategic plan as positive factors," said Dr. Weller.
Dr. Weller says the probation removal is a huge win for students, alumni, and churches who support the college financially. He says The Higher Learning Commission asked him about the college's turn around and he says, "God is good, people are generous, and our team worked very hard."
Dr. Weller says student enrollment played a big factor and in the last two years, enrollment at GLCC has grown.
