Gerard A. Champi, COO, has been appointed an at-large representative on the organizations’ board of directors. Board members are selected by the PBA’s membership through a peer nominating process. Champi is a 1982 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He received his MBA in finance and accounting from Wilkes University in 1989.

Austin Lyons has joined the agency as a financial services professional. Lyons earned his undergraduate degree from Monmouth University in marketing with a business management concentration.

Northeast Regional Cancer Institute

Donna Ahearn, Pittston, has joined the staff as cancer registrar. Ahearn received her associate degree and medical certification from Luzerne County Community College.

Nine members of the faculty have been awarded to associate professor; one faculty member to full professor and another was awarded tenure.

He received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee, a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a doctorate in English from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Jennifer Malinowski, tenure. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and her doctorate of pharmacy from Temple University. Malinowski completed her pharmacy practice rotation at The John Hopkins Hospital. Jin “Joy” Mao, tenure and associate professor of education. She received a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Xi’an International Studies University in China, a master’s certificate in distance education, a master of education degree in adult education and a doctorate in instructional systems from The Pennsylvania State University. Suzanne Murray-Galella, tenure and associate professor of education. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and criminal justice from the University of Scranton, a master’s degree in special education from Marywood University and a doctorate in education leadership in higher education from Wilkes University. Jacqueline Stewart, tenure and associate professor of nursing. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Cedar Crest College, a master’s degree from Widener University and her doctorate from Duke University. Adam VanWert, tenure and associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences. He received a doctor of pharmacy degree from Wilkes and a doctor of pharmacy degree in pharmacology from the Medical University of South Carolina. Ge “Grace” Xiao, tenure and associate professor of business. She received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Yokohama City University in Japan, a master’s degree in consumer affairs, a master’s degree in management of information systems and a doctorate in consumer science from Auburn University.
