New Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands Stephanie Garcia Richard speaks to the audience Friday at the Democratic Party of Los Alamos' campaign headquarters. Garcia Richard's term is not done so she is not running for re-election but attended the event to support the Democratic candidates. 'We are facing two very different futures,' she said. 'We can face a new way forward ... ensure we get to keep and further our reproductive freedoms, our access to healthcare, economic opportunities for everybody no matter who you are ... or we have that other path forward, which is basically already lined out for us, we can read it in Project 2025. (That) will drag a wedge through this country with divisive policies, will retract further freedoms that have already been retracted. That is what is at stake...
