Deputies: 3 taken to hospital after Jamestown Township crash
ich. (WOOD) — Deputies say three people were hospitalized Saturday after a crash in Jamestown Township.
It happened around 2 p.m. at 24th Avenue and Greenly Street, according to a release from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say a 29-year-old man from Indiana was heading east on Greenly in a Hyundai Elantra. They say he stopped for the stop sign at 24th but then proceeded into the intersection, later telling deputies that he believed it was a four-way stop.
His car was hit by a Honda CR-V that was heading south on 24th, according to the sheriff's office.
The CR-V's driver, a 70-year-old Holland woman, was pinned inside and had to be rescued by firefighters, authorities say. The 70-year-old driver and her two passengers, a 47-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl from Hudsonville, were all taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Meanwhile, deputies say the Indiana man was treated on scene for his injuries, then released.
The at-fault driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way, according to the sheriff's office.
