Nothing meant more to Dorothy than her family. She dedicated her life to raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love of cooking made her home the focal point of every holiday and family gathering. She enjoyed polka music and attending polka dances in the Mahoning Valley with her husband who played in the Bob Turcola Orchestra. She also enjoyed immersing her family in her Slovakian heritage and took joy in attending local festivals. She was proud of where she came from and kept many long lasting family traditions alive.

In addition to her hobbies and interests, Dorothy was a servant leader who did to others as she would want done to her. She always gave more to others than she took for herself, and enriched everyone around her with her love and generosity. The long lasting impact of her life on her friends, and most notably her family, cannot be expressed in words.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Conrad of Warren, Ohio, and Robert (Christina) Conrad of Lordstown, OH; grandchildren, Thomas (Abby) Conrad of Hermitage Pennsylvania, Jonathan (Ashley) Conrad of Austintown Ohio, Natalie (Ethan) Metheny of Austintown Ohio, and Nicholas Conrad of Austintown Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Everett Conrad, Ezra and Kinsley Conrad, and Charlotte and Cason Metheny.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lowell C. Conrad; sister, Eleanor Knis; and brother, Thomas Knis.

A private service will be held for family.

Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta Township, Ohio.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

A television tribute will air Sunday, September 22, at the following approximate times: 6:27 p.m. on WYTV and 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV. Video will be posted here the day of airing.
