Evangel seniors want to end careers with Valor

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Evangel started this 2024 football season with a seven game winning streak. And the Valor were ranked in the NAIA Top 25 for most of the season as well. But back to back losses have torpedoed their playoff hopes. The sun is setting on Evangel's football season. And the Valor will play its last game of the season Saturday at Bethel. Evangel will try to win and post an 8-2 record. Not a bad season, but still disappointing. One of those players is Kickapoo product and four year letterman C.J. Anoa'i. The offensive lineman has one last game where he'll put on the maroon and white Valor helmet. "I'm just trying to soak it all in. This will be the last time that I strap on pads on Coryell Field. I'm just trying to make the most of it today. Just soak it in before Saturday. I can say confidently that I'm not the same man I was four years ago. This program has helped mold me into a man with many characteristics. As far as discipline and much more then that. I'm thankful for the last four years that I've gotten to be here at Evangel. It's been an honor to play for this team, and coach Hep and this great coaching staff," said Anoa'i.
