Fire displaces occupants from two homes in four-unit structure Saturday

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Occupants in two units in a four-unit housing structure in Duluth are displaced after a fire Saturday.

According to authorities, just after 2:00 Saturday afternoon, Duluth Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at a residential housing structure on Baylis Street.

The fire caused damage to the porch, roof, and attic of the structure.

All of the residents from the homes were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

According to the DFD, three of the four units received smoke and water damage and two of the units received fire damage.

Three of the four units were uninhabitable as of Saturday evening, but one of those three affected homes was unoccupied.

The fire caused an estimated $300,000-$400,000 in damages.

This incident is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal's office.
