Georgetown County man arrested after firing into home, deputies say

(WBTW) — A Georgetown County man was arrested on Wednesday after authorities said he fired into a Mercer Avenue home. Quamae Rashaad Singleton, 18, was charged with discharging a firearm into a dwelling, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and aggravated breach of peace. Deputies obtained a search warrant prior to finding a .40 caliber handgun and about four grams of crack cocaine in a bedroom. Deputies recovered shell casings from a handgun on the scene. One residence had a single bullet hole in its siding. Nobody was injured. Investigators observed surveillance video that showed the victim driving an orange Chevrolet Camaro with orange rims at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and New Kings Road, according to the JSO arrest report for Lavertis Reed, 20, who was charged with murder in the shooting. As the victim's vehicle crossed the intersection, a white vehicle with dark rims was observed on the surveillance video driving south at a high rate of speed on New Kings Road, the arrest report states.
