Group of teenagers vandalize Elmhurst Little League Park bathrooms

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - This week, the Elmhurst Little League Park was vandalized by a group of teenagers after they broke into its restrooms.

The vandals broke three of the four sinks in the bathrooms and attempted to break into the concession stand.

The President of Elmhurst Little League, Brooke Thomas, says the vandals were in there for about five minutes.

"It hurts, it hurts because I put a lot of time and effort into revitalizing and making it better just for five minutes of destruction," says Thomas.

Thomas is unsure why the teens broke into the bathrooms in the first place.

"I'm guessing what they thought they were going to do was get in through the actual concession stand and hope that there was money or anything in there they could've stolen for money, and then probably just got mad and decided to grab the cinder block and smash up the sinks."

Thomas says that it is important to be aware of what your children are doing because things like this have expensive consequences.

"We are working with the police department as well as our security company on upgrading our security for better and more accurate live security cameras."

If you want to help the Elmhurst Little League, you can donate to its GoFundMe .
