Louisiana Bureau of Investigations traces VPN on some of the racist spam messages

BATON ROUGE, La. (KNOE) - Louisana Attorney General Liz Murrill said the Louisana Bureau of Investigation's Cyber Unit has learned new information about some of the racist spam text messages. According to Murrill, the LBI traced some of the racist messages back to a VPN in Poland. This announcement comes just one day after news broke about racist spam text messages being sent to people nationwide. The messages state the recipient of the text has been chosen to pick cotton at a plantation. "At this time, they have found no original source, meaning they could have could have originated from any bad actor state in the region or the world," Murrill said. "We will continue to investigate."
