Loveland police arrested a 30-year-old man on a first-degree murder charge on Friday night after responding to a call from a female who was worried about her mother.

Officers went to a home in the 3700 block of Foothills Drive after a 7 p.m. emergency call in which the caller said she could not reach her mother and was worried about her, according to a release from the police department.

When officers arrived, they contacted a man — later identified as Michael Fuller — at the home. As they were trying to get him to come outside so they could talk with him, the officers saw a woman on the floor of the home, the release states.

"Officers quickly made entry into the home and safely placed Fuller into custody," according to information from police.

The officers then confirmed that the woman was dead. The Larimer County Coroner's Office will release information on how she died and her identity at a later time.

Fuller was booked into the Larimer County Jail on allegations of first-degree murder with intent and with a weapon and tampering with physical evidence, both felonies, and on a misdemeanor charge of violating a protection order, according to Loveland police.

Police said Fuller also lived at the home, but did not release any additional details. The release said that the investigation is still underway and, at this time, no additional information will be released.

"The scene is still active and will likely be active for multiple days," according to police.
