Midland couple opens Creperia A & I snack shack after discovering their love for crepes

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- From discovering their love for crepes to experimenting with new recipes and selling them over Facebook, Jonathon and Celia Lozano, a Midland couple who has worked with crepe cuisine for the past two years, have recently opened Creperia A & I; a "snack shack" that offers sweet oat protein crepes, fruit smoothies, and frappes.

Named after Jonathon and Celia's 4-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son, Creperia A & I offers a wide variety of sweet menu options made with sugar-free ingredients for healthy-eating enthusiasts.

Jonathon Lozano, husband of Celia Lozano and owner of Creperia A & I, said that it all began after their daughter asked for pancakes.

"Two years ago we didn't know what crepes were. We had no clue these things existed...but that's kind of how it started. We started out of our home," Lozano said, adding that their daughter had started to ask for pancakes, causing Celia, his wife, to look at healthier recipes, which eventually unlocked the family's newfound love for crepes.

"My wife just kind of saw a video on crepes on TikTok and, from then on, she kind of decided to use the recipe she already had and do it this way," Jonathan said. "We do crepes and, they're made out of oat flour. They have protein, egg whites...a little bit healthier."

Jonathon said that so far, the community has shared a lot of positive feedback and even suggestions for new savory crepes, something that he said, is coming soon.

"The crepe itself, everybody loves them...Everything has been very positive," Jonathon said. "You'll see it as soon as you taste it. They're like very delicate and, and easy to eat."

Located in the middle of Summit Center Midland on 3108 Mockingbird Lane, Creperia A & I offers a variety of sweet delicacies, serving customers Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 1:30 PM and then reopening later in the day from 4 PM to 8 PM, and is open Saturday from 8 AM to 8 PM.
