Missing fire police captain found dead in Susquehanna River; Lancaster Co. Coroner
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The missing fire police captain, Tony Bortner, has been reportedly found deceased in the Susquehanna River on the afternoon of Nov. 1, according to a press release from the Lancaster County Coroner.

According to the release, on November 1 at around 2:54 p.m., the Lancaster County Coroner's Office was dispatched to the Martic Township area of the Susquehanna River. The release says upon arrival, the coroner encountered a person in shallow water off Peavine Island. The coroner pronounced the person as a deceased male at the scene, and the body was transported to the Lancaster County Forensic Center for further investigation, per the release.

The release says upon investigation, the deceased male was identified as 51-year-old Tony Bortner, of Windsor, Pa. Bortner was the fire police captain of Laurel Fire Company who was first reported missing on October 17. An autopsy was scheduled.
There were no suspicious circumstances at the scene and the cause of death has yet to be determined, per the release.
