Mix of cloud and rain today as Met Éireann says temperatures to drop to -2C this weekend

There will be some mist and fog this morning, followed by a mostly cloudy day with patches of drizzle, the national forecaster outlined.

Highest temperatures this Thursday of 11 to 14 degrees during the day dropping to as low as 7 degrees during a night full of drizzle.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy with patches of light rain or drizzle. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees, dropping to a colder 5 degrees during the night.

Saturday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain in the south and east at first in the morning, clearing southeastwards and allowing for some sunny intervals.

There will be plenty of clouds and rain too. Highest afternoon temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees dropping to a much colder 3 degrees during a rainy night.

Sunday will be mainly cloudy with outbreaks of rain in the morning, gradually clearing southwards during the afternoon. Sunny spells and some showers will follow.

Highest temperatures on Sunday of 5 to 11 degrees, coldest in Ulster, dropping to -2 degrees in what will be a very cold night, bringing some showers.

Looking to next week, Monday will be cold and mostly dry in the morning, but will be cloudier with showers developing through the day.

Highest temperatures on Monday of 5 to 8 degrees with light and variable winds, Met Éireann said.
