Ohio State drops out of top five in Week 14 AP Top 25

K.Hernandez3 months ago

COLUMBUS — Ohio State is outside the top five for the first time since September. Coming off a 30-24 loss to Michigan — the program’s third straight in the series — the Buckeyes fell from No. 2 to No. 6 in the Week 14 AP Top 25.

Here’s what the top five looks like heading into Championship Weekend: No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Washington, No. 4 Florida State and No. 5 Oregon.

Georgia leads the way with 52 first-place votes. Then comes Michigan. No other team is receiving first-place votes right now. That, of course, includes Ohio State, which now has slim chances to make the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State hasn’t defeated Michigan since 2019, and the Buckeyes haven’t played in the Big Ten Championship since 2020.

Here’s how Ohio State has fared in the AP Poll so far this season:

  • Week 1: No.

  • Week 2: No. 5
  • Week 3: No. 6
  • Week 4: No. 6
  • Week 5: No. 4
  • Week 6: No. 4
  • Week 7: No. 3
  • Week 8: No. 3
  • Week 9: No. 3
  • Week 10: No. 3
