PENGUINS REPORT

NEXT GAME
FACEOFF: 7:30 p.m. Friday vs. Quebec, Le Colisee, Quebec City.

TV/RADIO: The game can be heard on Oldies 92 and 100 FM. The radio
broadcast can also be accessed at the team’s Web site (www.wbspenguins.com).

NOTES AND QUOTES

RAPID FIRE: Hershey had 16 shots in first period against
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, which was more than the Bears had in two previous
games. They had just 15 in Friday’s loss at Norfolk, and just 12 in a loss at
Grand Rapids on Oct. 12.

APOLOGY EXTENDED: Following the game, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton radio
announcer Tom Grace said he berated the refs following Matt Herr’s overtime
goal that gave Hershey the 4-3 victory. The red light never was turned on, and
Grace insisted vehemently that the puck never went in. After the game, Grace
consulted with several of the Penguins, who told him the puck did enter the
net. After that, Grace said he wanted to extend an apology to the on-ice
officials.

FIRST FIGHT: Perhaps one of the more unusual moments of the game came when
Penguins C Jan Fadrny fought Bears C Yuri Babenko. Fadrny didn’t have a
penalty minute coming into the contest in his four previous games, and Babenko
had a pair of minors in six contests. It was Fadrny’s first professional
fight.

THREE STARS: 1.Hershey C Matt Herr, 1 goal, 1 assist, plus-1, game-winning
goal; 2.Wilkes-Barre/Scranton RW Alexander Zevakhin, 1 goal, even; 3.Hershey
RW Radim Vrbata, 1 goals, three assists, plus-2.
