Possible shooting suspect leading LAPD on chase in the San Fernando Valley

LOS ANGELES (KABC) - A possible shooting suspect in a minivan is leading police on a chase through the San Fernando Valley Thursday.

AIR7 was over the pursuit just before 4:40 p.m. as multiple Los Angeles police cruisers were trailing close behind. The suspect was driving at slow to moderate speeds amid light traffic on the northbound 170 Freeway in the North Hollywood area.

After the suspect exited onto surface streets in Sun Valley, they pulled over but suddenly made a U-turn and maneuvered past several police cruisers. The chase then continued on the northbound 5 Freeway in Pacoima.

Police say the driver may be armed and could be connected to a shooting in Echo Park that wounded two people.
