SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – After an 11-day stretch without measurable rainfall in Syracuse, there were some showers across parts of Central New York on Saturday. Will we need to keep the rain gear handy for Sunday? Find out below...

Showers for some this evening

The chance for a few showers and even a storm or two will continue through early this evening, mainly near and west of Syracuse.

Any lingering showers will gradually fizzle after sunset, and most are dry as we head through the overnight.

Low temperatures will end up in the 50s to around 60 with gradual clearing and some patchy fog developing.

Nice Sunday ahead

Sunday looks like a great day for anything you may have planned outdoors. Don't forget the sunglasses and sunscreen!

Along with a mix of sun and clouds, highs will remain unseasonably warm, topping out in the 70s to around 80.

There is just the slight chance of a spotty shower, but most spots remain dry to close out the weekend.

Shower chances set to increase for next week

This week and a half stretch of dry and warm weather was nice, but the pattern is set to change and for Central New York that means more clouds, and yes, the return of even more showers.

We know initially a separate cold front approaches us Monday afternoon into Tuesday bringing us a renewed chance for showers.

The details beyond Tuesday still need to be ironed out, but we think our best chance for widespread showers in about two weeks should come during the middle of next week.
