SOLON, Ohio – With sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s and low 70s, it was a perfect fall day for the Solon Fall Festival.

Hundreds of people attended the family-friendly event Saturday (Oct. 5) at Solon Community Park.

Many children enjoyed fall-themed inflatables, a petting zoo and backyard games. They could also play in a corn box or decorate pumpkins from a pumpkin patch.

Other activities included log sawing, axe throwing and hayrides.

The Hubs Square Dance Club, based in Bainbridge Township, offered square dancing demonstrations.

There was also a blacksmith demonstration and chainsaw carving.

Balloon twisting, face painting and airbrush tattoos were also offered. Solon artist Ron Hill contributed free caricatures.

Live music entertained attendees throughout the six-hour event. Performers included the Rockport Band, the Prime Acoustic Trio and the Travelin' Johnsons.

An artisans and crafters market featured about 50 vendors selling their homemade wares, including soaps, jewelry, gifts and home décor. It was presented by Avant-Garde Art and Craft Shows.

There were also food trucks and snack vendors.

The event was presented by Solon Parks and Recreation, the Solon Center for the Arts and the City of Solon.
