LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A brief cooling trend begins Thursday. Friday and Saturday look to be chilly before it warms up again for Sunday and early next week. There are some chances for precipitation Friday through Monday.

A cold front moving through the area Wednesday night into Thursday morning is what will lead to colder temperatures for Thursday through Saturday. Thursday looks to be mostly sunny to partly cloudy and breezy. Low temperatures in the morning should be mainly in the 20s with afternoon high temperatures in the mid 30s to mid 40s. Winds will be north at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. This is going to make it feel even colder.

A storm system looks to move northeast through Kansas Thursday night into Friday. This will lead to a chance of rain, wintry mix and snow in part of Southeast Nebraska and Northeast Kansas. A trace to 1′′ of snowfall accumulation is possible. The best chance to see the snowfall accumulation looks to be around Beatrice to Nebraska City southward into Northeast Kansas. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s.

Saturday should be mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow as an upper level disturbance moves through the area. High temperatures will be in the mid 30s to mid 40s. Another upper level disturbance may move through the region Sunday providing another chance of rain and snow. High temperatures look to be in the upper 30s to upper 40s.
