Rainfall yesterday was light and brief. The rain was long gone in Springfield for the afternoon and some late-day sun even peaked out behind the clouds.

Today will be a cool but sunny November day. Temperatures will be around normal in the upper 50s to near 60° with a chilly northwest breeze. Temperatures cool to the mid-30s overnight tonight with patchy frost Friday morning.

Friday through the weekend will be mild in the mid to upper 60s. Winds increase on Saturday as our next storm system approaches early next week. There is a slight risk of a shower or two on Sunday as a weak storm passes to our north.

A larger storm drops in on Monday bringing heavier and more widespread rain to the area. Instability in the Ozarks may be too low for severe weather on Monday, but a few thunderstorms are possible.

This second storm on Monday will pave the way for a pattern change that will usher in the coldest weather of fall so far. Highs later next week may only be in the 30s and 40s with morning freezes possible. There might even be some flurries or snow showers to talk about.
