Truck collides with train in rural Scott County
Two were taken to the hospital following a collision between a train and truck.
According to a release from the Scott County Sheriff's Office, on November 3 at approximately 11:22 p.m., the Scott Emergency Communications Center received a call of a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle and a railroad car in the 18400 block of 110th Ave. (county road Y48) in Davenport. The Scott County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene, and the initial investigation showed a 1994 GMC Sierra truck was traveling south on 110th Ave. and failed to stop for a posted stop sign at a railroad crossing. A train was traveling west, and the truck collided with a railcar.
Two occupants of the truck were transported to Genesis East Hospital by Scott County Medic EMS. The Scott County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Scott County Medic EMS, Walcott Police Department and Walcott Fire Department. The accident remains under investigation by the Scott County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Team.
