18-wheeler catches fire along I-10, shuts down upper and lower lanes

SAN ANTONIO - An 18-wheeler fire caused major shutdowns along I-10.
Around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the semi-truck hauling solar panels burst into flames on the lower levels of I-10 Eastbound at Culebra.
The fire not only closed both eastbound and westbound lanes but for a time, closed the upper level eastbound lanes, as the flames were high enough to reach the upper levels.
Nobody was injured as a result of the fire, and there have been no reports of damage caused to other vehicles.
Although the westbound lanes have since been learned crews are still working to clear the eastbound lanes, causing major traffic.
